How to get from Baku airport to city center?

Baku Airport, officially called Heydar Aliyev International Airport, is a contemporary marvel about 24 kilometers from the center of the city. A range of transit choices are available once you cross passport control and exit the terminal. 

• Baku Airport Bus (Aero Express):

The Baku Airport Bus,  also known as Aero Express, is one of the most affordable and comfortable choices. Buses run around the clock and leave every 30 minutes, providing a practical means of getting to the downtown area. As you leave the airport terminal, look for the bus on the left.

• Application-Based Taxi Services:

Utilize technology by using application-based taxi services such as Bolt, Yango and Uber. Baku enjoys relatively cheap transportation costs worldwide. On average, a 3-kilometer ride costs about 3 AZN (less than 2 USD). Download these apps using the complimentary airport WiFi. Depending on traffic and duration, a ride from the airport typically costs between 7 and 12 AZN. Using bank cards to make payments is recommended. Although drivers are polite and kind, expect them to speak little or no English.

• Ordinary Taxi Services in the Airport Area:

Official airport taxis, which are easily recognized by their red London cab appearance, will be there as you exit the airport gate. People who noisily offer taxis should be avoided because they are usually more costly. Decide on a price in advance to prevent issues. The typical fare with these taxis is between 25 and 30 AZN.

• Airport Transfers: 

Take into account the transfer services provided by the hotel if you've booked a hotel there. Although they cost about 25 AZN more than regular taxis, hotels usually offer more luxurious cars with skilled drivers, guaranteeing a hassle-free trip.
